The deadline for submitting an application for a 2016 grant ended on Friday September 30, 2016.  

The grants committee is now in the process of considering the applications and making recommendations to the Board of Directors. For more information, explore "Grants" on the home page or click "Read More" below.

Applicants should expect to hear from a member of the Grants Committee and may be required to accept a visit to the site of it's work.  It is anticipated that the Board will make it's final determinations on awards sometime between November 18 and 22 and will immediately announce the results.  All applicants will be advised by phone or letter of the final determinations. 


2016 Grant Cycle

 

USE OF GRANT PROCEEDS:

While grant proceeds may be used for either acquisition ofcapital assets or operating costs of your organization, you must demonstrate that grant proceeds will be used to address the more critical needs of the citizens of North Port, such as food, clothing, shelter or health care.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

     1. Organization must be a 501(c) (3) under IRS regulations prior to January 1, 2014.  (must provide IRS tax-exempt letter of determination from the IRS)          2. Grant proceeds must be utilized to serve the citizens of North Port.

     3. Organization must have been in full operation prior to January 1, 2014.

     4. Must allow HCCF to conduct pre-grant and post-grant site visits. 

     5. Grant proceeds must be utilized within six months

          unless an exemption is specifically approved by HCCF.

 

QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLICATION OR PROCEDURES:

The Heron Creek Community Foundation understands the time involved in submitting a grant proposal.  It is strongly suggested that before an organization commits to writing a grant proposal a designated person email us with any questions, to determine if the organization and proposed program meet our vision.  You may send such questions to HCCF at  grants@heroncreekfoundation.org.  In the subject line type: “question re: grant cycle”.  Your questions should be answered within 48 hours.  Since we are a volunteer organization, we suggest you contact us sooner rather than later during the grant cycle. Questions will not be addressed if submitted after Monday September 18, 2016.

 

GRANT APPLICATION:

     1. The application may be downloaded at www.heroncreekfoundation.org.

     2. If extra space is needed, you may attach additional pages

          but normally no more than 5 pages plus attachments.

     3. Late or incomplete grant applications will not be considered.

     4. Grants awards will normally be capped at $5,000.

     5. Please use the check list on the application to ensure that

          all documents are attached in PDF format.

     6. Application must be submitted via e-mail to grants@heroncreekfoundation.org.

     7. Application should have “Grant Application” in the e-mail subject line.

     8. Complete application and attachments should be in PDF format.

 

GRANT APPLICATION SCHEDULE AND DEADLINES:

     August 1, 2016:  First date applications will be accepted

     September 15, 2016:  Last day questions may be submitted

     September 30, 2016:  Last day for submission of Grant Application

     November 18 - 20, 2016:  Anticipated date of grant award announcements

     November 29, 2016:  Anticipated grant award ceremony
