RE:          Poolside Party Fundraiser Was a Success
On Friday evening, 1 May 2015, HCCF had a successful pool party fundraiser at the club pool.  We brought in about $3,200 after expenses.
This money will be used for monetary grants to 501c3 public charities who serve residents of North Port.  We help those residents in North Port with particular housing, health, and nutrition needs.  And last November, we included future scholarship help for an academically capable student in North Port whose family does not have the means to send the child to college.
I would like to thank all who came to the event, bought raffle and 50-50 tickets.  We had 138 guests attend.  We thank  event sponsors who provided a gift certificate or bottles of wine for our wine baskets.  The sponsors included: The Olde World Restaurant, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Absolute Liquor, Island Time Spirits in Venice, Heron Creek Publix Supermarket and Liquor, Johnson Brothers of Tampa, Heron Creek Golf & Country Club, Carol Kantor, Bob & Carolyn Smith, and Dale & Linda Kirkland.
I would like to thank HCCF Board member Laurie Huebner for chairing this event and doing such good work on it.  She chaired the planning committee consisting of Carol Kantor, Bob Smith, Sara Hartlein, Chris Trottier, and me.
We had a number of volunteers who worked or contributed as well.  These include Jackie Furbee, Harry & Dianne Ruffel, Roger McQuain, and Chip Smith.

We had Caribbean-style music by Jim Morris of Punta Gorda.  We thank Richard Wimmer and the Club GM/COO Chris Trottier for arranging this appearance.  We also thank Sara Hartlein, Catering Director of HCG&CC, for her help in planning and conducting this event.
Thank you to all who provide financial and/or work support.
Dale Kirkland, President of HCCF
