thank youThank You Heron Creek Residents!

The Heron Creek Community Foundation (HCCF) would like to thank all who contributed to our campaign to raise funds for our 2020 grant program. The response has been exceptional. As of this writing, 102 donations have been received totaling $28,675. The total consists of $18,675 from our residents plus a $10,000 matching donation from Sandy and Martha Edinger.

Your generosity is truly appreciated. A special thank you goes to Sandy and Martha Edinger who are two of the original founders of the HCCF and continue to generously support the efforts of the HCCF.

The Heron Creek Community Foundation (HCCF) is an organization whose members are residents of Heron Creek or members of the club. HCCF’s mission is to financially support qualified charitable organizations which serve the citizens of North Port and improve the quality of life within the local community.

This mission is achieved by awarding grants to organizations that have current 501(c)(3) tax status and serve the North Port community. In the ten years since our inception, HCCF has awarded $361,777 to organizations serving North Port. The need in our community this year is greater than ever due to the national and global issues we are all facing. Our ability to award grants this year was severely limited due to having to reschedule our two major fund raisers.

The Heron Creek Community Foundation Board will be deciding on the Grant Awards in early October. The recipients will be announced on our website and in the next Newsletter.

Your generosity will assist many members of the North Port Community who have been seriously affected and are struggling to put food on their tables and keep up with housing costs. The local charities that provide food and other assistance to the community are struggling to keep up with the demand.

The care and compassion Heron Creek Residents have for the community of North Port and those struggling in these difficult times should make all of us feel proud. Your contributions have enabled us to support charities that have the greatest impact on our North Port Community during this pandemic.

The HCCF Board of Directors Thanks You!

Tony Malavenda, President
