fashion showThe HCCF Board recently received a contribution  from the Heron Creek Country Club, Social Services Committee, in the amount of $4,000 dollars. The contribution resulted from the recent Fashion Show on January 26 attended by some142 members. The event chair Deanne Siddall stated it was determined in advance that the proceeds would go to the HCCF to assist in the delivery of social service grants to our North Port Community. We very much want to thank the entire Social Committee (Diana Missig, Jennifer Dirrigl, Debi Morgan, Don Murray, Deanne Siddall and Holly Loos) for their work and this appreciated contribution.  The Foundation Board awarded 20 non profit organizations last year in the amount of $ 62,166 through our grant process to assist them in their missions.

The Heron Creek Community Foundation was established in 2010 and is considered a Donor Advised Fund under the umbrella of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice Fl. We annually raise monies to fulfill our mission: to support qualified charitable organizations that serve the citizens of North Port and improve the quality of life within our local community. We raise funds through four means: hosting our annual golf outing (April 13, 2018), hosting our wine tasting event (Nov 14, 2018), our annual membership drive on going, and contributions. As of Dec 31 2017 we had an endowment balance of $ 312,364 dollars. Over 98% of monies raised go to support the mission and our North Port neighbors.

The Board members serve a three year term and newly elected members were voted into office at the annual meeting 1/15/18 and are as follows; Bruce Suardini, Nancy Hoffman, Mary Holden, and Tony Malavenda. The board of        Directors, in turn, voted in the following officers at the Jan 23 2018 meeting; President Jerry Stevens, Vice President Mary Holden, Secretary Lynda Gifford and Treasurer Ed Luchi.
