HERON CREEK COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Hurricane Ian Special Board Meeting October 7,2022
The meeting was called to order by Holly at 4:00 p.m. and a quorum was declared.
PRESENT: Holly Loos, Pete Cunningham, Nick Cippola, Bill Bach, Dave Sobecki, Roy Munnelly, Bill Bay, Mary
Bowersock, Joe O’Connor, Deanne Siddall

Committee Options:
Golf Tournament, pool party, silent auction: Bill Bach said we have two options. We can continue as planned or postpone
it. There was much discussion ending with AGAINST continuing as planned. Further talk about postponing it to late spring
would also not work because the snowbirds would be leaving. It was decided to cancel the tournament which includes the
silent auction, and pool party with a new date to follow. It was then decided that we would revisit the idea of holding a silent
auction. Holly added, “We will start again.”
Holiday Home Tour: We decided to move forward with the tour on Dec. 4, 2022. Holly will check with the homes that have
volunteered to see if they are still on board. She would like to have one more home.
GRANTS and TREASURY REPORT: Pete reported the following balances:
Admin and Holding: 8,743.65
Gulf Coast Endowment: 478,591.10
Pete said that we have no money for grants unless we take money from our corpus account. Pete suggested that we take
$25,000 from the account and use it to fund our most needy organizations. We will go back to our grant applicants and
determine their most critical needs. We will discuss these needs and grant amounts at our next meeting on Oct. 26, 2022.
Mary mentioned that we should continue funding Take Stock in Children as this is our signature organization.
PRESSING MISC. ITEMS: Heron Creek Cookbook : We will hold off asking for recipes at this time and perhaps go forward
during the holidays when people are planning their food menus.
Mary said she had some applicants for new directors and was reviewing resumes.
A question was asked about what to do with those people who have already signed up for the golf tournament or are
sponsors. We will give them two options. They can request a refund or apply their money to next year.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:00. Our next meeting will be on Oct. 26, 2022.
